How it works
Three steps, no setup.
-
Add TableSnap to Chrome
Free, no account. The extension is under 1 MB and asks for three permissions, explained below.
-
Open a page with a table
Click the icon or press Alt+Shift+T. Every table on the page is outlined and numbered.
-
Pick a table and a format
Paste it straight into Excel or Google Sheets, or download a file. Merged cells, footnotes and localized numbers are handled for you.
Free and Pro
The free tier covers everyday copy and CSV. Pro adds native Excel, batch and multi-page capture, for a single one-time payment.
Free What you get for free
- Unlimited table detection: classic HTML tables (merged cells handled properly), accessible ARIA grids, and many div-based tables built without table tags.
- Unlimited copy to clipboard, ready to paste into Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers or LibreOffice with columns intact.
- CSV export up to 500 rows per table.
- 3 free Pro exports to try every Pro feature.
- Clean data: non-breaking spaces removed, footnote marks stripped, localized numbers (“1 234,56”, “$1,234.50”) recognized as real numbers, links kept as text or as text + URL.
Pro 29 USD one-time, lifetime license
- Unlimited CSV export.
- Native Excel (.xlsx) export: bold headers, auto-sized columns, auto-filter and a frozen header row, one sheet per table.
- Markdown and JSON export.
- Batch export: every table on the page in a single file.
- Multi-page capture: append the next page of a paginated table with one click.
- Infinite-scroll capture: keep collecting rows while the page loads more.
- Choice of CSV separator (comma, semicolon, tab), auto-detected from your locale by default so Excel opens the file correctly in every country.
Nothing leaves your browser
Tables are read and converted inside your browser. No server, no upload, no analytics, no telemetry. The extension asks for exactly three permissions.
Sees only the page you invoke it on
Permission activeTab. The extension gets access to the current tab only when you click its icon or press the shortcut. It cannot read other tabs or your browsing history.
Runs its table reader on that page
Permission scripting. Needed to find tables and outline them. The code ships inside the extension; nothing is loaded from the internet.
Remembers your settings
Permission storage. Your CSV separator, link and number options and your license state are kept locally in your browser.
The only network request the extension can ever make is the license check with the payment provider when you activate a Pro key. Page content is never transmitted. Everything else works offline. Details in the Privacy Policy.

Questions
Does it work on any site?
On most of them. The extension reads tables from the page as it is displayed, whether the site is public or behind a login. It cannot run on Chrome's own pages (chrome://), on the Chrome Web Store or in the built-in PDF viewer.
What about tables built with divs?
The extension detects classic table elements, accessible ARIA grids and, on a best-effort basis, repeated div layouts that look like rows and cells. Some custom grids are not recognized; a sample URL sent to support@plainwaretools.com is usually enough to get them handled in an update.
Excel opens my CSV with everything in one column
Excel uses the list separator of your system: a comma in the US and the UK, a semicolon in most of Europe. The extension picks the matching separator automatically from your locale. Pro lets you choose comma, semicolon or tab explicitly. Copy and paste, which is free, always keeps the columns intact.
Does it upload my data?
No. Tables are read and converted inside your browser. There is no server, no analytics and no telemetry. The only request the extension can make is the license check when you activate a Pro key, and it contains no page content.
How many devices can I use a Pro license on?
One Pro license is for one person and can be activated on up to 3 devices or Chrome profiles. Deactivate a device from the extension's Upgrade panel to free a slot.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, in full, within 14 days of purchase and without giving a reason. Email support@plainwaretools.com from the address used at checkout with your order number. See the Terms of Sale, section 7.
How do I get my license key?
It is emailed right after payment by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, and stays available in their customer portal. Paste it in the extension's Upgrade panel and click Activate.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Detection and export need no connection. Activating a Pro key needs the internet once; after that the license is re-checked about once a day and keeps working for 14 days without a connection.
